This is the beginning.

I am a little late on starting this thing. I have been meaning to for quite sometime and decided to bail on the buying a url idea that I was thinking about. Although someone already stole the http://www.rideincircles.blogspot.com address, I just added a the to it. They haven't used that blog since 2002. What an asshat, I could make it more useful.

So anyways about my blog and whatnot. I plan on making this a location for my festivals/concerts/adventures/vacations/otherrandomshitifeelliketyping with an emphasis on concert writeups photos and videos from shows and whatnot.

Here are some random facts from the last 3 years of concert stuff I have been to:

2007 - started off my festival binge with a Grand Canyon to Coachella to Vegas roadtrip. Best Road Trip Ever Enough said. Everyone should go to all 3 places. Grand Canyon is a must if you live in the USA.

Then Bonnaroo 2007 blew my mind, not that coachella didn't either. Its just more freedom involved on the activity levels. This turned me into a Bonnaroo junkie. Tool killed it also.

Followed up by Austin City Limits 2007 where Muse and Bjork ruled all. Arcade fire was skipped for Muse and not regretted.

2008 involved the best punk show ever with NOFX @ SXSW playing all of punk in drublic for thousands of punks. Then bonnaroo again with My Morning Jackets epic 4 hour late night rain set, best concert ever. Pearl Jam was also amazingly amazing. Throw in another MMj show and some random Dallas concerts and Funfunfunfest and that was 2008 in a nutshell. Oh yeah I also saw Propagandhi in Finland, that was noteworthy.

2009 is still an ongoing project. 3 days of SXSW with the Ben Harper & the Relentless7 show in the ACL tv studio taking the cake for SXSW awesomeness. Lots of other good stuff like Nomo and almost getting trampled by police horses trying to get into the MSTRKRFT show made SXSW a blast.

My Bloody Valentine at Palladium Ballroom is worthy of its own sentence. Amazingly Badass loudness and the 15 minute Did you realize caucophany of noise and strobes that almost destroyed my eardrums.

Bonnaroo 2009 was the best Bonnaroo so far. Nine Inch Nails came out with a vengeance, and it was so awesome that it was scary. Phish sold me. Crystal Castles was the coolest late night glowstick tent party Bonnaroo has ever seen and the rest of the time was just wasted. Not. Too late to write about it now.

Some other facts:

I have 600+ videos on youtube, mostly of concert stuff. I usually try and record a song or two from every concert I go to, somehow I made it a habit. My youtube account is now up to 1 million views on my videos, so I am going to try and incorporate my audience here. It gets around 10000 views a week lately.
Here it is:

I have 14000 photos on iphoto on my computer which freezes up my old mac. I take a lot of photos at concerts and of random stuff. I could backtrack on old photos forever if I decide to. I still haven't got an SLR yet though. It's the next step.

I will be attending ACL 2009 and my plan is to go to Glastonbury next year.

So thats a quick summation of what I plan to ho here.

My name is John.
